ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The 3rd Annual Bluegrass Independent Film Festival is proud to continue with its short history of being the best film festival in this region with hospitality not shown anywhere else as attested to by the many filmmakers who attended BIFF 2005 and 2006.
It pays homage to D. W. Griffith's innovative film making techniques he developed with his first feature film, released just over 90 years ago. His birthplace is located here in Oldham County in the city of LaGrange, KY
The voting system is a weighted average scale that combines pre-festival screening juror ballots with festival audience ballots.
WE CATER TO THE FILMMAKER...
Attendees are treated to FREE weekend passes to enjoy limo rides, some of the best panel discussions, and parties - one at a beautiful antebellum mansion located on 440 acres of bluegrass and rolling fields, another at a renowned gardens complete with a castle. The awards party is hosted in the heart of downtown LaGrange and if the timing is right - you'll experience the low rumble of the freight train as is rolls down Main Street.
Several films screened at BIFF 2005 and 2006 have been picked up for distribution through various channels.
Our 2007 event is now in the programming stages and will again be located at the Great Escape Oldham 8 Theatres in LaGrange, KY.
The hospitality and media room expressly for filmmakers is a huge success and allows for continued networking. |
